Rangoli

Rangoli is an ancient cultural tradition and art from India. The art of rangoli is known by different names in different regions such as "Rangoli" in Maharashtra, Alpana (in Bengal), and Kolam (in Kerala),Rangavallie (in Karnataka),Muggu (in Andhra Pradesh).The patterns are made with finger using rice powder, crushed lime stone, or colored chalk. They may be topped with grains, pulses, beads, flowers or colours. This is a popular art form among Indian women.  Rangoli are painted on the ground in front of houses.Rangoli are typically painted during festivals like Diwali ,Dasara,Sankranti ,Onam etc.
